The Condition block is used to compare a variable against a value and route the conversation across different paths. For chatbot flows requiring a logical condition to be evaluated to branch out to the next step in the flow, you can use the condition action block.
If you want to move the flow to a specific block without checking a rule, use the Jump block instead.

Using the Condition Block

  1. Drag the Condition block onto the canvas.
  2. Connect it to the preceding block.
  3. Add one or more conditions.
  4. Configure the variable, operator, and comparison value for each condition.
  5. Connect each condition’s output path to the appropriate next block.
  6. Configure the Else path for cases where none of the conditions match.
Each condition creates a separate output path on the canvas.

Configurations

Condition Rule

You can create a set of conditions for each branch in the chatbot flow. Each condition is made up of:
  • Variable - which contains the value to be compared.
  • Operator - specifies the operation to be carried out.
  • Value - the value against which the variable’s value is to be compared.

Operators

Grouping Conditions

You can add multiple conditions to the same Condition block.
  • ANY if you want any one condition to be satisfied
Image
  • ALL if you want all conditions to be satisfied.

Default Condition

If none of the conditions are satisfied, the chat flow will automatically proceed toward the ‘Default condition’ branch on the bot builder canvas. Use the ‘Default condition’ to handle users who do not meet any of your defined rules. This default branch cannot be deleted.

Output Path

The Condition block creates:
  • One output path for each condition
  • One ‘Default condition’ output path
