Account details

Upload a logo to personalize your workspace and other account-level branding.

NOTE

Account branding and chat widget appearance are separate settings. Use the account settings page for account-level branding. To customize how the chatbot appears to visitors, use the Chat widget settings.

Account name

  • The display name of your workspace
  • Visible across the platform (e.g., reports, dashboards)
The account name identifies your WotNot account and may be used in account-related communications and customer-facing information.

Timezone

Sets the default timezone for:
  • Reports and analytics
  • Scheduling and timestamps
Your account timezone is used when displaying reporting data. WotNot’s reporting documentation confirms that report KPIs are calculated based on the account timezone. The account timezone can also affect operational features that use account-level time settings, such as live chat operational hours.

TIP

  • Changing the account timezone can change how reporting data is grouped by date and time.
  • Ensure your timezone is correct to avoid discrepancies in reports and chat timestamps.

Security settings

Two-factor authentication

The Security tab allows you to enhance access control and protect your workspace with additional authentication layers. Add an extra layer of security by requiring a verification code during login. What it does:
  • Requires users to enter a one-time code along with their password
  • Helps prevent unauthorized access even if passwords are compromised
How it works:
  • When enabled, users will be prompted to verify their identity using a code (typically via an authenticator app) during login
When to use:
  • Recommended for all teams
  • Essential for accounts handling sensitive customer data
Setting Up: To enable, follow these steps:
  1. Goto Settings > Account > Settings
  2. Select “Security”
  3. Turn on the “Enable 2FA” switch
Only ADMINS can enable this feature.
Once enabled, all your teammates signing up thereon will require to setup the 2FA on their app of choice i.e. Google Auth, LastPass, 1Password, Auth0 etc.

Make sure you download your recovery codes, else you will not be able to access your dashboard.

SSO Authentication

Allow your team to log in using your organization’s identity provider. What it does:
  • Enables Single Sign-On (SSO) for your workspace
  • Users can log in using existing credentials from providers like Google, Okta, Azure AD, etc.

NOTE

  • Available on the ENTERPRISE plan and above
  • SSO setup may require configuration with your identity provider
Integrating WotNot with your identity provider makes logging in simple and secure for your team. Follow the steps in this article to configure your identity provider, to require OpenID connect SSO (Single Sign On) from all your teammates, or offer it as one of your sign in options. To enable your identity provider, follow these steps:
  1. Go to Settings > Account > Security > SSO
  2. Enable the SSO login switch
  3. Fill in the required details
    1. IDP Provider URL
    2. Client ID
    3. Client Secret
    4. Redirect URL (to be configured in your identity provider)
  4. Click “Save Changes”
Screenshot 2026 09 10 130135 Login with SSO is now enabled for your account. Any user trying to login using password or trying to reset password will not be allowed to login, and instead be directed to login using SSO. Signing in with SSO: Open https://app.wotnot.io/login and choose “Sign in with SSO”. Image (47)
  • Enter your email address, and click “Login”. In the background, WotNot will call your identity provider to confirm authentication and if successful, the user will be proceeded to the WotNot platform.

Password Reset

  • Open https://app.wotnot.io/login
  • Click Forgot Password.
  • Enter your registered Email Address.
  • Click Send the link.
  • Open the password-reset email and click Reset Password.
  • Enter and confirm your new password.
Use a strong password that includes a combination of uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters. For example. ‘Test123$’
If SSO is enabled for your account, password-based login and password reset are not available. Sign in through your organization’s identity provider instead.
If an Admin needs to manage another teammate’s access, see User management.

Developer settings

The Developer tab provides access to your API token, which is used to authenticate and trigger programmatic actions on WotNot. Go to: Settings → Account → Developer

API Access Token

The API Access Token is used to securely authenticate requests made to WotNot APIs. What it does:
  • Authenticates API requests made from external systems
  • Enables automation and integrations with your workflows
Use Cases:

Trigger WhatsApp Campaigns (Webhooks)

You can use the API token to trigger outbound WhatsApp campaigns programmatically using webhooks.
  • Send campaign messages to users based on events
  • Automate notifications, reminders, and follow-ups
  • Integrate with your CRM or backend systems
For setup instructions, refer to this article

Invoke Public APIs

Use the token to authenticate requests when interacting with WotNot’s public APIs.
  • Create and manage conversations
  • Trigger workflows or bots
  • Fetch data and automate actions

Data and Privacy

Data retention

Automatically deletes chat and conversation data after a defined period to help with compliance and storage management.
Screenshot 2026 09 10 132116
How it works:
  • Once a retention period is set, data older than the selected duration is automatically deleted
  • The deletion process runs periodically in the background
Important considerations:
  • Deleted data cannot be recovered
  • Applies to conversational data (chat history, messages)
  • Recommended for organizations with compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)

NOTE

  • Lite and Starter plan — Does not offer data retention controls, max retention duration is 12 months.
  • Premium plan — Max retention duration is 24 months.
  • Enterprise plan — Custom retention duration.
  • Account information
  • User and teammate information
  • Contact information
  • Conversation and chat data
  • Bot and agent configuration

  • Campaign data
  • Integration data
  • Analytics and reporting data

Deleting an account

Deleting a WotNot account permanently removes the account and its associated chat data. To request account deletion:
  1. Create a WotNot support ticket or email support@wotnot.io
  2. Select an appropriate ticket type and describe your account-deletion request.
  3. Submit the ticket and wait for confirmation from WotNot Support.
Approximately deletion requests are processed within 24 business hours. Deleting your account is different from cancelling your subscription. If you only want to stop a paid subscription while retaining your account and data, cancel the subscription instead.
How to cancel subscription, See Billing.

Common questions

WotNot reporting uses the account timezone when calculating and displaying report KPIs. Changing the timezone can therefore change which date a conversation or other activity is grouped under.
Account branding and chatbot widget appearance are separate settings. If you are trying to change how the chatbot looks to visitors, check the Chat widget settings rather than the account-level branding settings.
Use the recovery codes generated when 2FA was configured. If you no longer have your recovery codes or cannot access your account, contact WotNot Support for assistance with account recovery.
After SSO is enabled, WotNot directs users to sign in through the configured identity provider rather than using a WotNot password.Check that:
  • SSO is enabled under Settings > Account > Security > SSO.
  • The Client ID and Client Secret are correct.
  • The IDP Provider URL is correct.
  • The redirect URL is configured correctly in your identity provider.
  • Users are selecting Sign in with SSO on the WotNot login page.
Account deletion and subscription cancellation are separate actions.Deleting your account permanently removes account data, while cancelling a subscription is intended to stop future subscription renewal. If you only want to stop paying for WotNot, use the cancellation option in Billing rather than requesting account deletion.See Billing.
Account-level security settings such as 2FA can only be enabled by an Admin. For information about WotNot roles and permissions, see User management.
