# Outbound Campaign - One off

> A one-off campaign lets you send a message once to a specific , selected audience you choose. Unlike an ongoing campaign, it does not wait for new contact data or trigger automatically.

* Targets contacts selected at the time of sending.
* It is suitable for announcements, promotions, or one-time messages.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Available on the **STARTER** plan onwards.

## Ongoing or One-Off?

| | **Ongoing campaign** | **One-off campaign** |
| :-: | :-: | :-: |
| **Trigger** | Runs automatically whenever new contact data is sent to the campaign webhook. | Runs when you manually start the campaign for a selected contact list. |
| **Audience** | Contacts added to the campaign over time. | A predefined list of contacts selected when the campaign is launched. |
| **Typical use case** | Abandoned cart reminders, appointment reminders, post-purchase follow-ups, or other event-based messages. | Sending a promotion, announcement, or bulk message to an existing contact list. |

# Before you start

Make sure the following are ready before creating your campaign:

* [ ] The channel you want to use -- WhatsApp, SMS, or email - is connected to your account.
* [ ] For WhatsApp, the message template has been submitted and approved by Meta.
* [ ] Your contacts are available in the account.
* [ ] Contacts have valid phone numbers for WhatsApp or SMS, or valid email addresses for email.
* [ ] Required contact attributes are available if you plan to personalize the message.

> [!NOTE]
>
> A campaign can only be sent to contacts who meet the channel's requirements and have not opted out or been blocked.

# Step 1: Creating a campaign

**1. Create a outbound bot using one-off campaign**

Go to the bot builder page, and choose to create an outbound bot

![Image](https://mintcdn.com/wotnot/YfQKl2QOkXpO0Wk_/images/image-152.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=YfQKl2QOkXpO0Wk_\&q=85\&s=769d79e3ba58864188c64948b18ea88e)

* Select one-off as your campaign preference.

![Image](https://mintcdn.com/wotnot/YfQKl2QOkXpO0Wk_/images/image-151.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=YfQKl2QOkXpO0Wk_\&q=85\&s=f9fbd53f72de059432d3c14ef4d64040)

**2. Upload your contacts**

Click on the 'Trigger' action block and upload a 'CSV' file which contains the contacts you want to reach out to.

![Image](https://mintcdn.com/wotnot/YfQKl2QOkXpO0Wk_/images/image-153.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=YfQKl2QOkXpO0Wk_\&q=85\&s=9927a1c3a62e3842cd7c861646d5b2b7)

Once uploaded, you need to map the columns of the CSV with the variables on your account. This mapping is done to help you dynamically replace values in the messages of your campaigns.

For example, if you want to include a message like *"Hello \{name}, glad we could meet on \{date}",* you need to store the name and date field in the contact mapping.

> [!NOTE]
>
> We consider the first row of the 'CSV' file as the column heading, these headings will be shown in the mapping of variables.

> [!WARNING]
>
> It is mandatory to have a phone/email field mapped, in order to be able to send a campaign to contacts.

**3. Create your outbound flow**

Add a outbound block like **Send SMS** or **Send WhatsApp** and configure its fields on the right panel.

The configuration fields would differ based on the channel you use.

![Image](https://mintcdn.com/wotnot/YfQKl2QOkXpO0Wk_/images/image-154.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=YfQKl2QOkXpO0Wk_\&q=85\&s=985de1b3e869bf347694229a4bdb8ff8)

**4. Deploy your bot to run your campaign**

Once your flow has been created, double-check all the messages for typos or any other mistakes and hit **Deploy**. \
\
A confirmation prompt will be shown to you for final approval before launching the campaign

> [!NOTE]
>
> Once the bot is deployed, **it cannot be stopped**. All contacts will start getting the messages that you have defined

**5. See the results**

Once the bot is deployed, it may take a few minutes for the bot to finish sending all the messages to the recipients. This delay may vary based on the contact list and the API provider you have used.

Post that you can see the results of the campaign. Click on the numbers to go to a deeper view and be able to download a CSV which will contain the results of the campaign on a per contact basis.
