# Calendly

> Calendly action block is used when you want to allow users to book an event with the company.Let visitors book a meeting through Calendly directly from a chat. The Calendly action block lets you connect a Calendly account, select an existing event, and present that event to visitors for booking.

Unlike the Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar integrations, Calendly handles the **availability, event type, and scheduling experience** for you. The visitor selects a time through the Calendly booking experience, while WotNot connects that experience to your chat flow.

This makes Calendly a good choice when you already use Calendly to manage your meeting availability and want visitors to schedule through your existing Calendly setup.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Available on the **Starter plan & above** and works with the **Web channel** only.

> [!NOTE]
>
> The Calendly booking experience opens as a full-screen pop-up in the web chat. After a meeting is booked, the meeting details are available in variables that you can use later in the flow.

# What you can do

| What it does | Which action block exposes it |
| - | - |
| **Present an event type** — Shows a selected Calendly event type that visitors can use to schedule a meeting. | **Calendly action block** |

| **Return the booking outcome to the flow** — After a successful booking, meeting details can be used in the next steps of the flow. | **Calendly action block** |

After a meeting is booked, the following variables are available:

* **#calendly\_start\_time#** stores the booking time
* **#calendly\_end\_time#** stores the booking date
* **#name#** stores the visitor’s name
* **#email#** stores the visitor’s email

# Troubleshooting

> [accordion] My Calendly account is not connecting
>
> Try connecting the account again and make sure you grant all permissions requested during authorization.
>
> If the connection still fails, verify that your Calendly account can access the event types you want to use.

> [accordion] My event type is not showing
>
> Only event types that existed before the Calendly account was connected are displayed.
>
> If you created the event type after connecting Calendly, disconnect and reconnect the account, then check the event list again.

> [accordion] My event type is unpublished or unavailable
>
> Check the event type in Calendly and make sure it is published and available for booking.
>
> If the event type was deleted or unpublished after you configured the action block, select an active event type instead.

> [accordion] No availability is shown to the visitor
>
> Availability is controlled by Calendly for the selected event type.
>
> Check the event type's availability, scheduling rules, connected calendars, and conflict settings in Calendly. Calendly's API can retrieve availability for a specific event type, while the actual scheduling rules remain managed by Calendly.

> [accordion] The visitor booked a meeting, but my flow is not continuing
>
> A successful Calendly booking makes the meeting details available to the flow.
>
> Check that the action block is connected to the next step and that the flow is using the booking variables correctly. The available booking details include `calendly_start_time`, `calendly_end_time`, `name`, and `email`.

> [accordion] The invitee details are not available in my variables
>
> Check that the booking was completed successfully and use the variables provided by the Calendly action block:
>
> * `name`
> * `email`
> * `calendly_start_time`
> * `calendly_end_time`
>
> These variables contain the meeting details captured from the completed booking.
